CID nabs 2 ‘TTP’ men in Karachi
KARACHI: The Investigation Wing of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) claimed to have arrested terrorists belonging to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
Investigation Wing in-charge Mazhar Mashwani said an informant tipped him off that member of a banned outfit was present in the SITE-B locality.
A police team rushed to the spot and was met with armed resistance. The law enforcers retaliated and arrested Saif-ur-Rehman and Ubaidullah with two 9mm pistols and hand grenades. The accused were shifted to the investigation unit.
Mashwani said the accused were TTP members and Rehman was involved in the killing of two policemen who were deputed at the Sir Syed and Jamshed Quarters police stations.
