Mandi Bahauddin: Police bust 12 gangs, recover booty worth Rs40 million
MANDI BAHAUDDIN: District Police Officer Amir Taimur claimed to have recovered stolen property worth more than Rs40 million including 30 motorcycles, gold ornaments, cash, cattle heads, tractors and cars from thieves and robbers on their arrest.
Addressing a press conference here, the DPO said that the police launched a special crackdown to arrest proclaimed offenders and nabbed 517 proclaimed offenders belonging to 12 gangs operating in Mandi and surrounding districts. The police recovered looted articles including vehicles, gold ornaments, cattle heads, cellphones, drugs and cash worth Rs40 million. The recovered property was laid out to shown to media persons. He said that holding of open courts at police stations and cells for receiving public complaints greatly helped the police to reduce crime incidence and provide timely relief to public in the area. He vowed to purge this district from crime with cooperation of the public.
Phalia DSP Lal Khan Khokher, Malkwal DSP Muhammad Nawaz, DSP Nawaz Ranjha, DSP HQs Ch Ilam Din, DSP Muhammad Sarwar and SHOs from all police stations of the district were present on the occasion.
