Rawalpindi: ANF arrests 7 drug smugglers
RAWALPINDI: The Anti–Narcotics Force (ANF), in crackdown on drug dealing mafia, conducted operations in different parts of the country and recovered 3,273 kilograms of charas and 3 kilograms of heroin and arrested 7 persons, including 2 female smugglers. Most of the seized drugs were destined for abroad, the ANF Headquarters said. The ANF Rawalpindi arrested two female smugglers identified as Ayesha Bibi, wife of Bacha Khan ,hailing from Nowshera, and Khanam Bibi, wife of Ghafar Khan, hailing from Karachi, after recovery of three kilograms of heroin from their possession. They were travelling by public transport near Mulla Mansoor Toll Plaza, GT Road, Attock.
The ANF Rawalpindi arrested Ishtiaq, son of Sardar Khan, resident of District Ghizer, after recovery of 2 kilograms of charas (garda) from his possession. He was arrested at Baseen, Gilgit.
The ANF Rawalpindi Airport Team intercepted Syed Rizwan, son of Syed Nasimul Haq, a resident of Karachi, at Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad, after recovery of 90 heroin–filled ingested capsules from the accused. He was to travel to Malaysia via Bangkok by flight TG-350.
The ANF Quetta seized a huge consignment containing 3,268 kilograms of charas dumped at Killi Suleman Khel, Tehsil Gulistan, District Qila Abdullah. Reportedly, the consignment was to be smuggled to Iran.
The ANF Karachi arrested Yasin, son of Shahzad Gul, and Mudassar Shah, son of Rahim Shah, both residents of Karachi, and Shahab Khan, son of Mairaj Gul, resident of Swabi, after recovering 3.250 kilograms of charas and 40 grams of opium from their possession. They were arrested at Shirin Jinnah Colony, Karachi. Cases have been registered at ANF police stations and further investigation is under process.
