Islamabad: 3 held for sellingmeat of dead cows
ISLAMABAD: Shehzad town police has arrested three persons who made a bid to sell the meat of a dead cow, a police spokesman said.
According to details, Shehzad town police station received information on May 24, 2014 about the purchase of a dead cow by a butcher Waheed s/o Yusuf resident of Pidorian Islamabad who runs his business in Nisar Market. Following this information, police started the investigation into the matter and came to know that he purchased the dead cow of Rs. 4000 from Jehanzeb Waris, Mumraiz resident of Asghar Mall Rawalpindi. Police managed to arrest all three persons who made a bid to sell the meat of dead cow. They were presented in the relevant court which ordered to keep them in judicial lockup. Islamabad Police have strongly contradicted the news item appearing in section of local press regarding arrest of a person from Shehzad town area involved in act of cannibalism (eating human flesh). Police have termed this news totally baseless saying no such arrest has been made.
