Militant held in Swabi with explosives
PESHAWAR: An alleged militant, Farooq Shah, was arrested during a search operation in Parmoli town that falls in the limits of Kalu Khan Police Station in Swabi district on Wednesday. District Police Officer Sajjad Khan said explosives along with power supply, detonators and hand grenades were recovered from his possession.
The officer said the militant confessed to have blown up several schools in the area. He also admitted to have blasted IEDs in front of two hujras in the area for the purpose of harassment and extortion. The arrest is another success story of tracing cases of terrorism in the district. The militant belongs to a Buner–based network operating in Swabi and Buner, the official said.
