Islamabad: 2 arrested in murder case
ISLAMABAD: Sabzi Mandi Police have arrested two persons allegedly involved in killing a man and burying his body in courtyard of a house, a police spokesman said. Maqsood Ali, resident of Toba Tek Singh, presently residing at House No105, Street 4, Sector G-15/2, Islamabad, lodged a complaint with Sabzi Mandi Police Station regarding missing of his son. He said that his son Sakhi Sarwar is messenger (Naib Qasid) in National Assembly who did not reach home after leaving his office. He said that his son contacted him on phone on February 22, 2014 and told that he is quite safe and will return home soon, but after that day his cell phone went off.
On his complaint, Sabzi Mandi Police lodged an FIR No.143, U/S 365 PPC dated 27-02-2014 and started investigation. SSP Islamabad Muhammad Ali Nekokara gave task to SP Industrial Area Liaquat Niazi to solve the case. Following these directions, SP Industrial Area constituted a police team headed by SHO Sabzi Mandi Asjad Mehmood, Muhammad Sub–Inspector and others.
The police team pursued the case vigorously and successfully resolved it by arresting two persons, Muhammad Irshad of Chak No.35/3R, Haroon Abad, Bahawalnagar, and his daughter Robina Tabassam, who were found involved in killing Sakhi Sarwar. Police also recovered the dead body of Sakhi Sarwar from courtyard of assassin’s house, his mobile phone and murder tool — axe.
The assassins confessed that they called Sakhi Sarwar in their house and murdered him after intoxicating. Raids are being conducted to arrest the other accomplices of assassins. Police has got physical remand of the accused and further investigation is underway.
