Karachi: 3 criminals killed, 6 held in raids by law enforcers
KARACHI: Three alleged criminals were killed and six others arrested in different encounters with police and rangers in different areas of the city on Thursday.
According to a Rangers spokesman, a suspected terrorist Imran alias Umar Qari had an encounter with rangers in Baldia Town. He was killed in crossfire. The accused was stated to be involved in more than 20 cases of target killings, according to the spokesman. He said that Qari belonged to a banned group. Separately, five suspected criminals were arrested during raids in Ramswami area. They were shifted to undisclosed location for interrogation. Crime Investigation Department (CID) of Sindh police during an encounter killed a gang war suspect Sohail Dada in Napier area, police said. Dada was involved in murder, attempt to murder, extortion, land grabbing and other heinous crimes in the city, police claimed. Police also raided a house in Sharafi Goth and arrested Sohail Dada’s close accomplice Sajna. Heavy weapons, hand grenades, alcohol drums and drugs were also recovered from the house. In another search operation by police in Lyari, criminals opened fire on police and in retaliatory fire by police; a criminal of Lyari gang war was killed. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sheeraz Nazir said that the deceased was identified as Waseem Pado who was affiliated with Shakeel Badshah gang. SSP said that Waseem was involved in target killing, extortion and other crimes.
