Peshawar: TTP commander involved in firing on PIA plane nabbed
PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police on Wednesday arrested a commander of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) who was allegedly involved in the firing on a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane at Peshawar airport.
According to police, Ali Hyder, commander of the TTP’s Shahid group has been arrested. Hyder is reported to have been involved in attacking the PIA plane at Peshawar’s Bacha Khan International Airport in which a woman was killed and two crewmembers injured. He has been shifted to an undisclosed location for investigation. Police had earlier suggested head money of Rs 10 million for his arrest.
The KP Police has sent to the political agent of Khyber Agency and Darra Adam Khel asking them to take action against terrorists. During a search operation, police arrested around 200 suspects, but they were released after questioning, while three of them are still in police custody for questioning. Police has asked the Khyber Agency and Darra Adam Khel political administrations to arrest 600 nominated terrorists.
