Peshawar: Account officer held over corruption charges
PESHAWAR: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Thursday arrested Nadeem Shad, Account Officer of Peshawar Development Authority, who is allegedly involved in embezzlement of over Rs100 million in connivance with other accused, including officials of a private Bank.
During the course of inquiry, it was revealed that the accused Nadeem Shad, Account Officer PDA in connivance with other accused managed to open a fake bank account and got transferred more than Rs100 million from the PDA Official Account maintained with a private Bank. The amount was then withdrawn from the fake account, causing a huge loss to the govt exchequer. The accused will be presented in the court for obtaining his physical remand today(Friday).
