Extortionist arrested in Peshawar
PESHAWAR: The police arrested an alleged extortionist and foiled a bid to smuggle ammunition to Punjab on Tuesday. Superintendent of Police (SP), City, Mustafa Tanveer told reporters that one Zafeer Gul, hailing from Chughulpura locality, was receiving calls from unidentified extortionists demanding Rs5 million.
The official said police investigated the matter and arrested an Afghan national Ghulam Hussain. Also, the police intercepted a vehicle and recovered nine repeaters, three Kalashnikovs, 26 pistols, 22 magazines and 19000 rounds. “We have arrested the smuggler Naeem Jan from Matani and case was registered against him,” said Mustafa.
