NAB arrests father of ex-banker for embezzlement in Peshawar
PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Wednesday arrested the father of a former official of a private bank, who was allegedly involved in embezzlement of over Rs100 million. The NAB arrested Muhammad Irshad, father of the main accused Sheraz Khan, who was ex–official of a private bank and had allegedly embezzled Rs100 million in connivance with other accused including officials of the Peshawar Development Authority (PDA), said a communiqué.
During the course of inquiry, it was revealed that accused Muhammad Irshad in connivance with his son Sheraz Khan, PDA account officer Nadeem Shad and other accused managed to open a bank account, transferred huge amount from the account of PDA and embezzled over Rs100 million. The NAB–KP officials claimed that they were pursuing the investigation and those involved in the case would soon be unearthed. The arrested accused will be produced in the Accountability Court today.
