Rawalpindi: 15 lawbreakers including 6 gamblers arrested
RAWALPINDI: The police under its ongoing drive against the anti-social elements have arrested 15 lawbreakers, including six gamblers and two drunkards, besides recovering 1,020 grammes of charas, 26 drums of alcohol, one drum of wine, two pistols of 30 bore with seven rounds, one rifle of 44 bore with four rounds, and firework items from the possession of the arrested accused.
According to police, the Pir Wadhai police held a man for having 500 grammes of charas while another man was rounded up for possessing 520 grammes of charas. The Taxila police arrested another accused and recovered 26 drums of alcohol and one drum of wine. Two persons were sent behind the bars as they were allegedly under the influence of alcohol. Another accused was nabbed as the police recovered firework items from him. Others accused were netted on the recovery of illegal weapons. Meanwhile, the Cantt police acting on a tip-off conducted a raid in Ciros Cinema area and held five persons for allegedly being involved in betting while playing cards. The police also recovered Rs 2,740 cash stake money, five mobile phones, and other items from their custody.
