2 extortionists held in Abbottabad
HARIPUR: The police arrested two extortionists demanding Rs5 million from a resident of Buner district in the limits of Cantonment Police Station, Abbottabad district, on Sunday, official said.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Kamran Mumtaz said that Gul Nauroz, hailing from Buner district, was living in the Umar Colony, and he purchased a plot worth Rs120.5 million last month through property dealers, Sultan Muhammad and Hidayatulla, belonging to Battagram district, to establish a factory in the Abbottabad Industrial Estate. He said that Gul Nauroz received a call from someone asking him to pay Rs5 million, or they would kidnap his school going children. The official said that the police started tracking the cell–phone number after the victim informed the police. He said that the police arrested both the property dealers Hidayatullah and Sultan Muhammad for demanding the money.
