Islamabad: Afghanistan-based carjacking mafia don arrested
ISLAMABAD: The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) has arrested Afghanistan–based carjacking mafia don, Zazay Khan, with heavy cache of narcotics Sunday, police sources said. Zazay Khan had escaped from Koral Police Station about two years back during investigation when the police arrested him with other members of the gang. Jamil Hashmi, SP (Investigations), when contacted, told ‘The News’ that upon receiving information about activities of carjacking mafia chief Zazay Khan alias Chhota Zazay alias Jan Agha in Islamabad, team of Anti–Car Lifting Cell (ACLC) was deployed to monitor his activities and to arrest him. The team intercepted him when he was riding on a stolen car with narcotics.
Hashmi said that Zazay Khan, known with different names as Chhota Zazay and Jan Agha, son of Naqeebullah, hailing from Bagram, Afghanistan, has been arrested by CIA Anti–Car Lifting Cell with 20 kilograms of ‘Chars’ (hashish) in his possession. The police have registered FIR (No. 363/14) with Tarnol Police Station under sections 9-C and 14 FA. The ACLC also recovered a stolen car from his custody. Jamil Hashmi said that during initial interrogation, he confessed to steeling 55 cars from Islamabad.
His aide identified as Javed Khan, son of Bismillah, resident of Bagram, Afghanistan, has also been arrested from Golra area on the identification of Zazay Khan and 2 kilograms of Hashish were recovered from his custody, the SP said. He added that FIR (No. 260/14) has been registered against the suspect with the Golra Police Station. He is also involved in car theft. IGP Tahir Alam Khan has appreciated the performance of the CIA/ACLC team and announced rewards for the team members.
