Fake gold sellers arrested in Islamabad
ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police have arrested six persons for their alleged involvement in drug peddling, selling fake gold and having illegal weapons besides recovering 19.800 kilogram hashish and weapons from them, a police spokesman said on Tuesday.
Following the directions of Islamabad IGP Tahir Alam Khan, special checking at entry as well as exit points of the city was being conducted which was overall supervised by the SSP Asmat Ullah Junejo. During this vigilance campaign, Bhara Kau police team nabbed two drug pushers Shafiq Afridi and Shabir in possess ion of 19.8 kilogram hashish.
Tarnol police arrested an accused Abdul Rasheed for accommodating a proclaimed offender while Koral police nabbed Tahir in possession of 12 bore repeater gun. Shalimar police apprehended two women identified as Gulshan and Ayesha for selling fake ornaments.
Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is underway. SSP Islamabad Asmat Ullah Junejo has appreciated this overall performance and directed all police officials to intensify efforts to curb activities of the anti–social elements.
