Karachi: Heroin, hashish seized in ANF raids
KARACHI: As part of its ongoing Operation Umeed–e-Nau II, the Sindh Anti–Narcotics Force on Monday arrested three suspects and seized large quantities of heroin and hashish in two operations in the city.
According to an ANF spokesman, 64.2 kilograms of high-quality heroin was found from a container at Karachi Port that was destined for Colombo, Sri Lanka.
“The cargo included two tractors and the narcotics were stashed in their tyres. We have arrested two men in connection with this smuggling bid and raids are being conducted across Pakistan to round up the entire gang involved,” said the spokesman.
The day’s other successful operation was conducted at Ilyas Goth Adda in Ittehad Town.
“A man was arrested with 20 kilograms of hashish in his possession. He has been interrogated thoroughly and raids are being carried to pick up his accomplices,” the ANF official said.
