Quetta: FC arrested 12 suspected insurgents in November
QUETTA: Frontier Corps (FC) personnel have arrested at least 12 suspects and seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition during search operations, which were conducted in Qila Saifullah, Zhob and Lesbela districts and Bugti tribal territory in November.
Provincial Home Minister Sarfraz Bugti gave a detailed briefing to the media on the raids carried out by paramilitary troops on November 14, 23, 26 and 28.
He said that FC forces during a vehicle search in Qila Saifullah District seized three 7mm RPGs with 100 rounds, a hand grenade, 650 7.5 calibre rounds, 134 high explosive mortars rounds, 105 millimetres (mm) mortars with 60 rounds, 120 mortar charge bags and four fuses, adding that the suspects were taken into custody.
Sarfraz Bugti said that the arms and ammunition were being supplied to the Baloch insurgents from Wana town. “Security forces have foiled an attempt by terrorists to destabilize Balochistan after the Operation Zarb–e–Azb,” he said.
Later, the FC officials told the media that that border forces have arrested five suspects in Killi Noray area of Zhob District.
