Karachi: SIU police arrests 4 bandits
KARACHI: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Special Investigation Unit (SIU) Farooq Awan on Tuesday claimed to have arrested a gang leader with their three accomplice and recovered weapons from their possession.
Addressing a press conference he said SIU team raided SITE area near Ghani Chowrangi and arrested a gang leader Rashid alias Kashmiri along with his accomplices Saeed Ahmed, Tariq Khan and Muhammad Mazhar Naseem and recovered weapons and looted mobile phones.
Awan claimed the accused had looted millions of rupees from four different banks this year and added that a woman accomplice was also included in the gang.
He said SIU police arrested accused Rashid in 2013. After that accused had been released through bail and they formed new group and then began looting banks.
During investigation the accused confessed to several target killing, robberies and throwing hand grenades at public places.
