Peshawar: Fake currency seized, 4 held
PESHAWAR: The police on Thursday arrested four accused after recovering fake currency notes and licences of arms from them, police said on Thursday.
Superintendent of Police (SP) City, Mustafa Tanveer, told journalists that the police conducted a raid on Nawaz Fida Printing Press at Mohalla Jangi in Qissa Khwani after receiving information about preparation of the fake currency notes and driving licences in a large number.
The police officer stated that the police team headed by DSP of Khan Raziq Police Station, Gul Nawaz Khan, raided the printing press and recovered 90 fake arms licences, five visa stackers, UAE dirhams 1000 fake notes.
He said that the police arrested owners of the printing press including Riaz Fida, Ijaz, Farooq and Ashfaq Ahmad. The official said all the accused persons were under investigation and the accused would be produced in the local court today for obtaining their physical remand.
