82 arrested in Mansehra, Battagram search
MANSEHRA: The police in upper parts of Hazara have taken into custody 82 suspects, majority of them Afghan nationals, during the search operations on Thursday.
Police parties in both Mansehra and Battagram districts started the search operation early in the day. About 82 suspects were arrested and arms and ammunition were recovered from their possession, said an official.
A police party led by deputy superintended of police, Zulfiqar Khan Jadoon, raided the settlement of Afghan refugees in Khaki area of Mansehra district and taken into custody around 40 Afghan nationals. “We have taken into custody around 40 Afghan nationals who are suspected to be involved in crimes and also recovered arms and ammunitions,” said Jadoon.
A police party led by district police officer, Battagram, Jehanzeb Khan Bangash carried out search operation in Allai, Thakot and Battagram and taken into custody 42 suspects.
Bangash also visited district jail in Battagram to review the security measures being taken following terrorist attack on army public in Peshawar.
