Islamabad: Police arrest gang involves in selling babies
ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police on Thursday arrested two culprits of a gang who involved in the selling of new born babies.
According to reports, the resident of Lahore named Asif Qureshi son of Muhammad Akram came to know by a Facebook page that name was “Adopt Baby Islamabad” is involved in business of selling of children. Through his sources, he contacted a person named Shahzad Ali Zeb son of Gulzeb Khakn who is the resident of G-10 Islamabad and he agreed to sell out new born baby of eight–days and demanded Rs 300,000.
On this he doubted that person, his mother and wife might have involved in stealing new born babies from hospitals and sold them. On the tip off, Ramna Police Station raided a house and arrested two person of the gang. A special investigation team constituted on the direction of Islmabad inspector general police Tahri Alam was constituted which was headed by SSP City Mohammad Ilyas and team of Ramna Polie Station.
During investigation, the arrested persons said that they had formed NGO for which new born babies were being supplied by women after stealing babies from different hospitals. On the basis of information, police arrested three more women from Peshawar and Mardan and furher investigatioin is in progress.
