NAB arrests proclaimed offender in Islamabad
ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Saturday arrested Humayun Khan, a proclaimed offender (PO) allegedly involved in fake tax refund.
According to a NAB release, the accused was termed PO by the Accountability Court (AC) in March 2011. He was accused in Reference No 55/07 state versus Gulraiz Raza and the case was registered on the charges of fake tax refunding.
The accused was sent to judicial custody and the AC-1 Islamabad would take up the case on Monday.
The federal watchdog on the directives of its chairman had initiated a special campaign against the POs and absconders to arrest them and to put them behind bars.
