Peshawar: KP Police claims arrest of 342 suspects
PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested 342 suspects and recovered a huge quantity of arms and ammunition in the ongoing search and strike operation in the province.
The police spokesman said the KP Police in the operation conducted in different parts of the province recovered 36 arms and ammunition of different kind and 674 rounds of different bore. During the operation as many as 930 houses and 214 hotels were checked and 25 cases were registered against the violators.
Some 223 suspects were held during snap checking on 118 checkpoints and 12 arms of different kind with 205 cartridges of different bore were also recovered. In action against illegal Afghans a total of 56 persons were detained on violation of the Foreign Act and 25 cases were registered against them. Similarly 7 persons were arrested on violation of illegal use of loudspeakers.
