Rawalpindi: Land revenue officer held on graft charges
RAWALPINDI: A team of anti–corruption establishment conducted a raid at Tehsil Services Centre in Murree and caught the in–charge land revenue red–handed while receiving Rs 1 million as bribe from a land owner, sources informed The Nation on Friday.
A case was also registered against the arrested in–charge land revenue Saqib Shehzad. According to sources, Atif Mehmood appeared before ACE Director Chaudhry Zulfiqar and lodged a complaint that the in-charge land revenue had demanded Rs 1 million as bribe from him for transferring 500 kanals of land. Taking action, the director constituted a special team which along with Judicial Magistrate Shaukat Abbas Ranja carried out raid at in Murree and caught the accused red–handed while receiving bribe from the citizen.
