CTD arrests 4 terrorists in Peshawar
PESHAWAR: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Thursday claimed to have arrested four terrorists having head money and linked with the banned Tehreek-e–Taliban Pakistan (TTP) during a raid.
The CTD officials said that after receiving a tip-off regarding the presence of the terrorists in the city, a team took immediate action and arrested the four accused terrorists along with multiple hand grenades, detonators and maps of different sites and routes. During the initial inquiry it was revealed that the arrested accused had been involved in assisting multiple terrorist activities within the provincial capital and also had links with the terrorist leaders of TTP. Meanwhile, Peshawar police on Thursday arrested 40 suspects including Afghan nationals during a search and strike operation. According to police, a counter terrorism operation was carried out in the jurisdiction of Chamkani Police Station during which 40 suspects were arrested. The arrested suspects included five proclaimed offenders (POs) and 10 undocumented afghan nationals. The police also claimed to have recovered arms and ammunitions from their possession.
