Islamabad: Police nab 3 Afghan car lifters
ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police has arrested three persons involved in car and motorbike lifting incidents and seized weapons, bikes and tools used in criminal acts, a police spokesman said.
According to details, police constable of Ramana Police Station Shah Nawaz observed three car lifters, in sector G-11/1 near petrol pump, were trying to lift a car.
After seeing the cop, the car lifters tried to sneak away at a motorbike. The cop immediately alerted the police officials through wireless and cordoned off the area.
SP Industrial Area Liaqat Hyat Khan Niazi, CIA DSP and station house officers of Ramana Sabzi Mandi and Industrial area Police Stations reached the crime scene and cordoned off the entire area. As the policemen approached near absconders, they started firing which was retaliated by police.
The car lifters got injured in exchange of firing who were later identified as Riasat, Shah Wali and Nawaz alias Khan Ji, residents of Afghanistan. Later, the injured car–lifters were moved to hospital. 1It was revealed that they were involved in car and bike lifting incidents from posh areas of the city.
