Peshawar: Terrorist arrested from Akora Khattak
PESHAWAR: Acting on intelligence information, the anti–terrorism unit of Mardan arrested a terrorist, Syed Nawaz alias Amer Sahib, from Akora Khattak, Nowshera District, on Friday.
According to reports, the accused was associated with the banned militant organisation Lashkar–e-Islam and was accused of involvement in the terrorist attack in Shamshatu camp in which six policemen were killed. Syed Nawaz was also wanted in connection of a number of terrorism activities and bomb blasts. The Counter–Terrorism Department claimed to have recovered 4 kg explosives, 3 fuses, 4 detonators, 2 hand grenades and 2 pistols from the terrorist. The arrested person was shifted to a secret location for interrogation.
