PESHAWAR: The Anti-Corruption Department on Wednesday arrested personal secretary of the Transport Department for allegedly taking bribe from some people to recruit them in the Ministry of Education.
PESHAWAR: The anti–corruption department on Wednesday arrested three persons, including director general health and the head of the Provincial Hepatitis Control Programme, for their involvement in purchase of substandard injections and vaccines worth Rs150 million. Dr Sharif Ahmad Khan, DG health, was arrested from his office along with Dr Ghulam Subhani, chief of the Provincial Hepatitis Control Programme and superintendent Mubarak Shah, official sources said.
LAHORE: Civil Judge Zafer Iqbal on Wednesday granted four-day physical remand of Prof Dr Iftikhar Baig of Shalimar College and former chairman of the Rawalpindi education board, an accused of depriving 4,500 people of Rs 1 billion in the name of a ghost housing society ‘Education City.’ On Wednesday, Investigation Officer (IO) Inspector Rana Fawad of anti–corruption department produced the said accused before the court. The IO sought 10–day physical remand of the accused to carry out investigation.
KARACHI: Provincial Anti-Corruption Court (PACC) on Tuesday granted interim bails to an Excise and Taxation Officer (ETO) against Rs 100,000 surety and four other employees against Rs 50,000 surety each in a financial scam.

LAHORE: On the complaint of Mohammad Ali, a citizen, an Anti-Corruption team of Lahore Region raided the office of a Patwari, Mohammad Zareef Ahmed, in Halqa Barki area Tuesday and caught him red-handed while accepting bribe, the Express News reported Wednesday.
KOHAT: As reported by the Dawn News, the DSP, anti-corruption department, Mian Mustafa Gul filed a fraud case on Monday against district forest officer (DFO), Abdul Ghaffar, for appointing a relative, Majid Ahmed, as deputy ranger on fake certificate in 2007. A case against the accused under section 409/5 (2PC) was registered. However the officials were waiting for the permission from the high officials for his arrest.
RAWALPINDI: Regional Police Officer (RPO) Nasir Khan Durrani on Monday placed three station house officers (SHOs) under suspension on different charges. Two of the suspended SHOs are from Attock district and one from Chakwal district, said a police handout.
