ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police nabbed 256 drug–pushers, liquor sellers and 215 criminals and recovered huge cache of contraband, liquor and weapons from their possession, the police spokesman said. A total of 215 persons were arrested during the first three months of the current year and 218 cases were registered against them. Police recovered 182 pistols, 13 guns, three carbines; three hand–grenades, nine rifles, six Kalashnikovs and 2,091 rounds from them.
GUJRANWALA: Three accused Shakeel, Shahid and Kamran strangled woman Najma Naurin, 50, at Ali Park. Satellite Town Police have registered a case on the complaint of Ms Amna Yousuf, daughter of the victim. The accused surrendered to police after the incident. Police are busy investigating.
LARKANA: A police head constable was killed by unknown armed men here in the jurisdiction of Ratodero on Monday. According to reports, Head Constable Zamir Hussain Mahar was patrolling in a vehicle when four armed men intercepted him and opened fire. As a result, he died on the spot.
NAWABSHAH: A TV cable operator was deprived of Rs0.2 million and valuable items by a gang of six armed men who attacked his office. According to the report registered at the Airport Police Station, the cable operator, Khalid Qureshi, nominated Shahrukh Rasheed and his accomplices Babar, Rashid and three otherss.
OKARA: Three armed men looted a shop on the GT Road. They snatched cash and a motorcycle. The resident of Garden Town, Mirza Naeem, was at his shop when the robbers stormed into his shop.
KARACHI: A 45-year-old traffic police ASI, Abdul Jabbar, was shot dead as he tried to catch robbers in Saddar, on Wednesday. According to sources, the robbers were trying to escape after mugging a man, Fahad, when Jabbar intervened and was shot in the chest. He was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre but did not survive his injuries.
SWABI: A Pakistani expatriate was killed by unidentified armed robbers on resistance at his house near Yar Hussain police station Monday night.

Qari Asghar, 36, son of Qari Khuda Bakhsh, was passing through Sector 4-B on his motorbike when he was targeted by two armed men riding a motorcycle, said an official at the Surjani police station.

Reportedly, one Javed Iqbal was coming from Allahbad with his family on a motorcycle. When they reached near Pul Ghara, three armed men intercepted them and snatched new motorcycle from them.
