Three persons, including two children, were killed when a mortar shell went off here in Khipro on Thursday. Police said some children of the Meu Takar Village in Tharparkar found a live mortar shell while playing in the fields and assuming it as a toy brought it to their home.

Armed men blew up a newly-built school building in Oghi early Thursday morning, the police said. The militants blew up two more schools in Bara tehsil of Khyber Agency late Wednesday night, local sources said. The sources said that explosives planted by the militants in the Government Boys Middle School, Gulmeran Killay in Akakhel area, caused the explosion when triggered with a remote-controlled device late in the night.
