KARACHI: Five people, including activists of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and the Awami National Party (ANP), were killed in incidents of target killings in various parts of the city on Tuesday.
PPP activists Daad Rehman and Soomar were killed while six passers-by, including two women, injured when two men riding a motorcycle lobbed a hand grenade at a PPP office on Faqeer Muhammad Dura Khan Road in the Kalakot area of Lyari late on Tuesday night.
SANGHAR: A police constable was shot dead at the main gate of Police Line here on Tuesday. Arshad Mallah, 40, was shot at by unidentified assailants while he was going to Police Line dispensary where he worked. (more…)
JACOBABAD: Two people were killed in a tribal clash in Kashmore district on Tuesday. According to police, two groups of the Jakhrani tribe, which had some old enmity, started firing at each other with sophisticated weapons in village Rais Jakhrani, in the jurisdiction of the Buxapur Police Station of district Kashmore.
KARACHI: A teenage boy died while playing with his father’s pistol at home in Haji Mureed Goth, Old Golimar, on Monday. Police said Ijaz, 14, son of Ghulam Nabi, was playing with his father’s pistol when suddenly it went off and a bullet hit him in the chest. His family took him to the Civil Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. The police seized the pistol and registered a case.
KARACHI: A middle-aged man was gunned down in the Mochko police limits on Wednesday. Zahir Gul, 50, was shot dead by unidentified motorcyclists in Ittehad Town. Some witnesses informed the police, who shifted the body to the Civil Hospital for legal formalities. According to the police, the man was gunned down due to some personal enmity.
SUKKUR: The criminal arrested on Tuesday from the katcha area of Katcho Bindi after an encounter has died in Ghotki police custody.
Reports reaching here said the Ghotki police had arrested five criminals, including three brothers Abdul Sattar Mirani, Abdul Ghaffar Mirani, Abdul Jabbar Mirani and Hassan and Muhammadan after an encounter.
SUKKUR: Body of an alleged bandit who reportedly sustained injuries two days ago during an encounter with Ghotki police, was found from a sugarcane field near Channa bus stop on Friday.
It was shifted to the Civil Hospital Ghotki for post-mortem.
KARACHI: The police recovered two bodies in different areas on Sunday. The bullet-riddled body of a man, 32-year-old Saleem Akhter, was found in Baldia Town on Sunday.
Some people saw the body and informed the police who later shifted it to the Civil Hospital. The MLO said that there were marks of torture and three bullet holes on the body. According to the police, the Akhter was a resident of the Naval Colony Mauripur and he was kidnapped by unidentified people last night and after killing him at an unknown place, and threw his body in their police area. They termed it a case of targeted killing.
MIRPURKHAS: Three men axed a man to death here on Friday to avenge the murder of their relative.
Dhano Bheel, 35, was going to Jhurbi village after attending the hearing of a murder case in a local court. Three men attacked him with axes near Municipal Shopping Centre. He was taken to the civil hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
KARACHI: Two decomposed bodies were recovered on Tuesday. The decomposed body of Yameen, 60, was found in the Mithadar police precincts. Police shifted the body to the Civil Hospital for legal formalities. The police said that the body was at least three days old.
