LAHORE: The traffic police have caught 254 beggars and registered cases against them, said Lahore CTO. He said the beggars caused accidents and disrupted traffic flow.

LAHORE: Police on Thursday claimed to have smashed two gangs of motorcycle–lifters by arresting their four members involved in three dozen incidents of street crimes. A Lahore police spokesman said that the Millat Park police had also recovered five stolen motorcycles, mobile phones and other valuables from their possession.
LAHORE: The Cantonment Division Anti–Vehicle Lifting Staff claims to have arrested a three-member inter–district gang involved in car theft, and recovered 27 vehicles worth Rs15 million from them. According to a statement issued on Tuesday, Lahore CCPO Muhammad Aslam Tareen directed DIG (Investigation) Chaudhry Shafique Ahmad to arrest criminals involved in robberies and car theft. The DIG constituted special police teams of the CIA and AVLS to arrest the culprits.
LAHORE: Robbers looted cash and valuables worth Rs4.2 million during five incidents in the provincial capital on Tuesday. Two armed men barged in the house of Shafique in Feroze Park in Green Town police limits, held family members at gunpoint and took away cash and valuables worth Rs1.26 million. Some robbers stormed into the house of Dr Muhammad Hanif in E-Block of the Defence Housing Society in Chuhng police limits and escaped after looting cash and valuables worth Rs1 million.
LAHORE: The only brother of six sisters was shot dead under mysterious circumstances outside a garments shop in the Iqbal Town area, police said on Wednesday. Police investigators said that Muhammad Asad, 20, had been running a garments shop located in Hunza Block in the Iqbal Town area. On the day of the incident, Asad was busy in his daily work when he was hit by a bullet and fell on the ground. Muhammad Baqir, a security guard at an adjacent shop, told the police that he was cleaning the gun when it accidentally went off. The youth was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

The suspects were arrested during raids in the areas of Manawan, Harbanspura, North Cantt, South Cantt, Iqbal Town, Green Town, Township, Shahdara, Naulakha, Lower Mall, Manga Mandi, Raiwind, Model Town, Nishtar Colony, Kahna, Shafiqabad.
