Police on Saturday arrested 13 persons from various areas of the city for their alleged involvement in gambling, murder, drug peddling and recovered stake money, fake currency of worth Rs 0.49 million, hashish from their possession, a police spokesman said.

Robber killed in Alipur botched bank heist

The guards of a commercial bank foiled a robbery attempt in Alipur falling in the jurisdiction of Koral Police Station and in the ensuing encounter between the guards and the dacoits one of the dacoits was killed by his accomplices, the police spokesman said.
