HYDERABAD: Joint teams of Rangers and police arrested 10 Afghan nationals during an operation against illegal immigrants here on Wednesday in the Amani Shah Colony, Latifabad Unit No–11.
HYDERABAD: A police head constable was gunned down when he was fired upon by two unidentified armed motorcyclists within the jurisdiction of Makki Shah police station on Monday night. Reports said two policemen, Mohammad Usman and Mushtaq Ali, were on duty at Cantonment graveyard that connects city with Latifabad. Usman went towards the road coming from Latifabad and signalled two motorcyclists to stop. But they fired at him and headed towards Hill Top in-cline that goes towards the city centre, leaving the policeman with three bullet injuries.

When the team of the cell reached the area with bulldozers along with a group of Jatois for possession of the land, people of the area resisted them.
HYDERABAD: A man of Chandio tribe was killed and four of his associates suffered injuries in an exchange of fire with Jatoi tribesmen as they tried to get a plot of land in Ganjo Takkar area in Latifabad vacated with the help of a team of anti encroachment cell here on Sunday. When the team of the cell reached the area with bulldozers and a group of Jatois for possession of the land, people of the area people put up resistance. Ahmed Khan Chandio was killed and Manzoor Chandio, Sadiq, Shaman and Majeed were injured in the exchange of fire.
HYDERABAD: Timely intervention by police saved a robber from being lynched by an unruly mob here on Wednesday. A gang of robbers deprived Nadeem Qureshi of Rs200,000 in front of his shop where he had reached after drawing the amount from a bank. He resisted the bandits who opened fire in panic, hitting Bhagwan Das, a pedestrian. People chased them and got hold of one of them. The mob was going to burn him alive when police reached there and took him into custody. He was later identified as Haibat Khan Arain, said to be resident of Khanewal.
SUKKUR/HYDERABAD: Several people, including a policeman, were injured when several blasts rocked various cities of Sindh, including Karachi, on Wednesday. In Hyderabad, four low-intensity bombs exploded one after another at ATM booths of four branches of the National Bank of Pakistan located in Anaj Mandi, Fatima Jinnah Road, Naseem Nagar and Latifabad No.7 on Wednesday morning. Six people were injured. The CMO of Civil Hospital, Hyderabad, Dr Anwar Arain, said six injured were brought to the hospital. One of them, Muhammad Munshi, a resident of Kotri, was undergoing surgery while the others were discharged after first aid. Bashir Ahmad and his son Asghar Ali were injured while they were walking past an NBP branch in the Market area. Another person Shakil Ahmad was hit by glass shards outside the Fatima Jinnah Road branch of the NBP.
