KARACHI: Thirteen men, including suspected target killers, have been arrested, police said on Monday. CID Anti–Extremism Cell SSP Mohammad Aslam Khan said after receiving a tip-off about the whereabouts of some religious party activists involved in target killings, a raid was conducted near Juman Shah Bukhari Shrine in Soldier Bazaar.
KARACHI: Police on Monday night arrested eight suspects during search operation in Soldier Bazaar and Patel Para areas, Geo News reported. Police with the assistance of Reserve force personnel conducted search operation in Soldier Bazaar, Albela signal, Patel Para and Darban Bazaar and apprehended eight suspects. One suspect was injured in exchange of fire. Sources said search operation was launched after traffic police check post at Lasbela signal came under attack.
KARACHI: The unabated wave of target killings continued in the provincial capital, as 10 more people were killed while six others were injured on Monday. Police officials claimed four MQM workers were among the dead while all the six injured also belonged to the MQM. The most-affected areas included Pan Mandi, Kharadar, Kamil Gali, Kaghazi Bazaar, Risala, Garden, Dhobi Ghat, Chippa Gali, Soldier Bazaar and Chakiwara, where five people, including the four MQM workers, were killed and five other party workers were wounded.
KARACHI: Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested a man for allegedly killing at least two women, chopping off their body parts and dumping them at different places. The body parts of at least two women were found in different places in March and earlier this month. DSP Qaiser Ali Shah said the suspect, Muhammad Rafiq Soomro, was arrested in Patel Para.
KARACHI: A crowd gathered and looked at the suspicious plastic bag that was lying in a garbage dump beside a school on Jahangir Road on Monday. Someone called the police. Everyone was scared to open and see what was inside. The police arrived at the scene. They took the plastic bag and opened it… two feet, a thigh and part of the abdomen of a body emerged from it. Meanwhile, another man came to see why the people had gathered.
KARACHI: The bullet–riddled body of 30–year–old Raees was found by police from the Parsi Colony area. Police also retrieved his CNIC and found that he had been a resident of No. 2, Soldier Bazaar. Meanwhile, the police also traced his family who told the law enforcers that Raees had gone missing from the house the night before.
KARACHI: An activist of the Awami National Party (ANP) was gunned down in Pathan Colony on Sunday. Besides, the bodies of two teenage boys, who had been tortured to death, were recovered from different parts of the city.
KARACHI: A young tailor was shot dead at point–blank range at his shop in Soldier Bazaar No 2 on Sunday, police said. They added that two men walked up to the shop of 23-year-old Jehangir Alam, had a conversation with him and fired at him before fleeing on foot.
KARACHI: Two people, one of whom an activist of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), were killed in separate incidents reported in the city on Saturday.
Faizan Khan, son of Mohammed Khan, was shot dead in an attack in the Soldier Bazaar area. The incident occurred late on Friday night in Garden West, near Jama Haleem.
KARACHI: Police have disclosed the arrest of a culprit allegedly involved in the murder of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) leader’s son who was killed after being abducted from Shah Faisal Colony Wednesday last.
